ENDODONTICS

Endodontics is the part of dentistry that deals with the inside of the tooth. It consists of the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of gum disease and periapical infections. (In the bone around the roots).

The dentist performs endodontic treatment (root canal treatment) on a tooth when it can no longer be kept alive, either because it is already necrotic (dead) or because it is in danger of becoming so.
